Solar Eclipse Facility Policies

  • To enter the camping area each person must have their lanyard with their name and site number on it.  If you do not have your lanyard, admittance to this space will not be allowed.
  • All campers must be at least 6 years of age.
  • Amplified sound of any kind is not permitted while in the Student Recreation Center.  Headphones must be used while listening to personal music throughout the Facility.
  • The Student Recreation Center is a non-smoking facility. State law also prohibits smoking on the SIUC Campus and areas associated to it.
  • Alcohol or controlled substances are prohibited while in the Student Recreation Center.
  • Pets are not permitted, except service animals providing assistance to individuals.
  • Open flame of any kind is not permitted while in the Student Recreation Center.
  • The possession, storage, or carrying of firearms on SIU property is prohibited.
  • Quiet time will be from 12 a.m. – 6 a.m. each day.
  • Recreational Sports and Services is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Daily use lockers are available in the locker rooms and throughout the facility.

Parking Information:

Southern Illinois University is assessing a $35 per car parking fee for anyone camping in at the Student Recreation Center during the Solar Eclipse. The parking lot is located close to the Student Recreation Center and is lighted at night and safe.
