GRAND AVENUE CROSSWALK NEARING COMPLETION; STUDENTS ASKED TO CROSS WITH CAUTION

The new crosswalk in front of the SRC is now operational. Please be cautious as you enter the crosswalk and use the safety buttons to warn traffic going both eastbound and westbound. Buttons to illuminate safety lighting are located on both the north and south sides of the crosswalk and patrons are urged to activate these lights when crossing.

hand scannerEASIER WAY TO SCAN INTO THE SRC?

For over 30 years, students and members of the Student Recreation Center have needed their valid student or member ID card to enter the SRC. Those days are soon coming to an end. Recreational Sports and Services has acquired a hand reader that will mark over 200 points in your hand, allowing you to register your hand for scanning into the SRC, rather than showing your ID. The process  to register is simple – just go to Member Services and ask them to register your hand print. It only takes a couple minutes, and once registered, you can enter the SRC by just punching in your Dawg Tag or Member ID number on the keyboard and placing your right hand in the reader. It’s hypo-allergenic and safe to use.

Users will have the option of the old way – scanning an ID - or using the hand scanner once you are registered. The system is up and running now; try it out!
