Class description:

This class will teach the basics of Shotokan karate along with effective yet easy to learn self-defense applications from a variety of Martial Arts. Shotokan karate is a traditional Japanese martial art that is the world's most popular form of karate. Students will be taught a number of blocks, strikes, kicks and a beginning kata (form). They will also learn different stretches designed to increase flexibility. The self-defense applications consist of easily remembered defenses against specific attacks. A  karate uniform (gi) is not required, but students should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing.
