Runners/Walkers

Can you survive the zombie outbreak that has happened on Southern Illinois University Carbondale campus? Runners will be given a belt with detachable flags (e.g. football flags) at the beginning of the race and will have to navigate the course attempting to not lose your flags to the hungry zombies. Look for signs and Good Samaritans along the way to help you find your way to the finish line.

Zombies

As a zombie it is your responsibility to make sure that the zombie population grows! Each human runner will be given a belt with detachable flags (e.g. flag football flags) that you will have to pull in order to grow the zombie population. Zombies will be asked to be slow moving, non-contact other than pulling the runners’ flags, and follow the guidelines of the “zombie zones”.  Individuals who want to participate as zombies are encouraged to wear their scariest costumes and most terrifying makeup. Are you up to the challenge?

Good Samaritans (Volunteers)

Want to be a part of the fun and help save the human race? As a Good Samaritan you will be responsible to help the human runners navigate their way through the race and make sure that the zombies stay in their zones. Come dressed for the weather and help save the humans! We will hold a small Good Samaritan meeting to help you understand the safe zones and make sure the runners do not get lost.
