The SIU Rec Center hosts a variety of fun events, tournaments and happenings all year long for students and the community. Check out what’s coming up and make plans to stop on by. We’d love to see you there!

  • Parents' Night Out

    One Friday Each Month

    Ready for a fun night?

    Parents' Night Out - an evening escape for parents, a night of fun at the SIU Rec Center for kids! Limited to children of currently enrolled SIU students only, parents can drop off their children ages 5-14 for a night full of activities and games.

    Program Dates

    Nightly Activity Schedule (Tentative)

    • 5:30 PM - 6:00 PM: Check-In
    • 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM: Active Play
    • 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM: Quiet Play
    • 9:00 PM: Pickup

  • Moonlight Canoe

    Location: Becker Pavilion

    The next moonlight canoe will be in Spring 2026.

    • Timeslots include 7:00 - 7:45PM, 8:00 - 8:45PM and 9:00 - 9:45PM
    • FREE for SIU Students!
    • All others: $20/watercraft

  • Becker Boating

    Day of the Week: Saturdays, 1-5 pm. This event will return in Spring 2026

    Reserve your date and come on out to Becker Pavilion. Canoes, Kayaks, and Pedal Boats are available. Canoes are best for two people and Pedal Boats need at least 2 and as many as 4 per boat.

    Walk-up registration is allowed, but we strongly encourage online registration, as sessions without adequate participants may be canceled. Online registrations will have priority over walk-up registrations.

    Open to everyone. Current SIU students are FREE when they show their SIU Student ID. $15 per boat for all others.

  • Saluki Indoor Pickleball Tournament

    Recreational Sports and Services is proud to host the 2027 Saluki Indoor Pickleball Tournament 27-28 February! 

     

Saluki Outdoor Pickleball Tournament

Recreational Sports and Services is proud to host the 2026 Saluki Outdoor Pickleball Tournament on September 12th - 13th. The tournament will be held at Saluki Courts. The tournament is open to ages 12 and up.
