Equipment Rentals | Recreational Sports and Services | SIU

The Competitive Sport Office is pleased to provide equipment rentals services to SIU students, RSS members, and the local community. 

To rent equipment from Southern Illinois University, individuals must be at least 18 years old and affiliated with the university as a student, staff member, or spouse. Equipment rental reservations must be made at least one week in advance and may be refused due to time constraints, pending reservations, equipment status, or RSS programming needs. The university and its departments are not responsible for any injuries resulting from the use of rented equipment. 

Individuals must present their SIU or RSS ID when checking out equipment, and a facility supervisor or front desk attendant will document the ID information. Equipment check-outs and returns will only be permitted during the business hours when the SIU Recreation Center is open.

The equipment must be returned in the same condition as it was received, except for normal wear and tear. Equipment will be inspected upon return, and those who damage or lose equipment will be charged to repair or replace it. The department may refuse to check out equipment to individuals who abuse equipment or violate the rental policies.
