Family Membership

Are you looking for fun, family recreation on weekends or after school hours? Then this is the membership for you! Families that purchase a Family Membership will have full access to all the opportunities available in the Student Recreation Center.

How much does it cost?

*Costs are the same for each membership category (Community, Alumni, and Faculty/Staff).

*Each family member must live in the same household. 

Minimum 1 adult / Maximum 2 adults
You may add as many children as you wish.

Members must meet the following criteria and rules: 
Child is defined as anyone under the age of 18.
•Parent Member must be legal guardian of the minor(s).
•Each member will need to have ID card printed.
•Minor must always be accompanied by the parent member when using the facilities.

ATTENTION: Misuse of IDs, including using another patron's login information for the Rec Center App, to gain facility access is considered fraud. Campus Recreation staff will confiscate misused, expired, or invalid cards and misuse of IDs may result in loss of membership privileges. Only the person listed on the membership ID card can use it. Replacement card cost is $15.

When can you use it? 

Fall/Spring: 
Friday — 5 - 10 p.m.
Saturday/Sunday — normal operation hours
*Federal holidays when school is not in session
*Spring Breaks/Fall Breaks — normal operation hours

Summer: 
4 - 7 p.m. Daily
Saturday/Sunday — normal operation hours

First time Sign up info

  1. Come to the SIU Student Recreation Center.
  2. Visit Member Services which is located on the lower level of the REC Center.
  3. Choose your Membership Type.
  4. Fill out required paperwork.
  5. Take a photo for your profile.
  6. Enjoy the REC!
